There are many kinds of caterers; event, wedding, corporate, special event, mobile and Mom and Pop.
Two years ago, my partner Alex Vantarakis and I bought Thornhill Catering.
Thornhill is a thirty-year-old catering company with an exceptional staff. I have experience in restaurants and food and I was sure this would be an easy transition. Haha.
OK, it wasn’t really that bad. I quickly learned that catering has the same and different set of issues as restaurants. Food is hard, and people pay good hard-earned money for something they hopefully will love…. then the order is wrong, cold, a salad is forgotten, or the waitstaff is surly. In a restaurant, the situation can be fixed quickly; when the meal is catered, the kitchen is miles away and a failed order is harder to fix.
There are many kinds of caterers; event, wedding, corporate, special event, mobile and Mom and Pop caterers.
How can you ensure you pick the right one? Do your homework and ask the right questions.
a. How long have you been in business? Longevity is a good sign.
b. Do you have your own vans?
c. What type of caterer are they? Business to business, event?
d. How many people do you employ on a full-time basis?
e. What is the largest order you have completed successfully?
Thornhill Catering has full-time employees and thirty-three years of experience. We have the knowledge, manpower, and creativity for your catering needs and can provide many references to make you feel comfortable with your decision.
